4 Ups & 3 Downs From Doctor Who Series 12 - Spyfall Part 2

1. The Ending Is Anticlimactic And Lazy

The Master Doctor Who

The Master, Daniel Barton, and Kasaavin plan is thwarted by The Doctor in the end. No surprises, that's how Doctor Who works most of the time. However, The Doctor went about this by sabotaging this plan by tinkering with The Silver Lady device in the past. Simply going back in time to foil a plan sounds very much like the ending of Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey. It grants a very easy 'out' for defeating a seemingly unbeatable foe. The very nature of Doctor Who points to this approach being a potential solution to every problem The Doctor comes up against, but Spyfall Part 2 has been granted immunity from the 'fixed point in time' and 'don't mess with history' rules we've known up to this point.

Add to that Daniel Barton's exit being nothing more than darting through a door when the plan just stops, and the actual conclusion to the whole plan of taking over the Universe falls flat. Does this mean we've seen the end of Lenny Henry's Daniel Barton? Without The Master and the Kasaavin on his side, he doesn't seem like much of a standalone threat. Unless he makes The Doctor's browsing history public.

Also the go-to for Doctor Who, and could tell you why Sans Serif fonts are better than most. Still occasionally tap dances under the desk.
