5 Ups & 2 Downs From Doctor Who Series 12 - The Haunting Of Villa Diodati

4. Cybermen Resurrected

Lone Cyberman
BBC

Similar to the Daleks post-2009, the Cybermen became less of a terrifying presence in Doctor Who, and felt more of a contractual obligation. Their repeat appearances in mediocre stories led to the iconic villains become an almost-caricature of themselves. However, the Lone Cyberman, along with its need to snap necks and slit throats, definitely put the fear factor back into these metal monstrosities.

We have at least one more episode with this lone Cyberman alongside his less lonely pals (The Timeless Children may be an offshoot from the Cyberman plot for all we know), but it looks like we'll be back behind the sofa again each time half-built 'n' rusty shows up again.

Born in Theatre, sits at a Computer. After over a decade of tinkering with Video Editing software, Rich gets to spend his precious time editing whatever's thrown at him. Also the go-to for Doctor Who, and could tell you why Sans Serif fonts are better than most. Still occasionally tap dances under the desk.
