5 Ways Marvel Should Assemble The Avengers TV Show

5. The Ultimate Rendition

Getting back into more realistic territory, if the writing team for this potential TV hit adaptation are stuck for ideas on storylines, they could do far worse than pick up a few compilation graphic novels of the Ultimates reboot series. The opening volume of the comic-book saga, €˜Super-Human€™, focused on the building of the pseudo-Avengers team of Captain America, Thor, Ant-Man, the Wasp and Iron Man while Bruce Banner decided to become the Hulk once more to prove to the public that the new team could face off challenges. If that sounds a bit familiar, it€™s because The Avengers' storyline has been noted by fans as especially mirroring this Ultimates tale, particularly in its first half. The Chitauri later appeared in Ultimates as a modern version of the Skrulls, and that Joss Whedon picked them up for Assemble is no coincidence either. The Ultimates was a fantastic modern rendition of the Avengers comic-book franchise, so it was no wonder that the first film adaptation of the latter sought inspiration from the former. Why not continue that trend, then, with the proposed TV show? Certainly, with the confirmation of Edgar Wright€™s Ant-Man movie as a Phase Two instalment, it seems that character will be joining the ranks of the team for Avengers 2, and perhaps it€™s possible that the Wasp will make a cameo appearance just as Hawkeye did in Thor last week. These developments could certainly aid an Avengers telly drama in following the Ultimates saga more closely, a great bonus to a writing team who will no doubt be eager to satisfy the expectations of fans in the most cost-efficient and exciting way possible. Again, the storylines could almost have side-attractions involving S.H.I.E.L.D agents and cameo heroes which refer to key events rather than utilising them centre stage. There is absolutely no doubting that the rumoured Avengers TV show will be a challenging project to get off the ground and running in months (or years) to come. Will it be set before or after the first ensemble film, or focus on the creation of the Initiative, or even take in some of the ideas we€™ve given here? Time will tell, but if the reports are true, then the discovery of the answers to these questions should be one heck of a ride€
