6 Reasons Better Call Saul Is The Best Show On TV Right Now

With Better Call Saul being a prequel; we finally get the return of everyone's favourite stoic, yet surprisingly sensitive, hired muscle Mike Ehrmantraut who was so cruelly taken away from us in Breaking Bad. Jonathan Bank's Mike quietly established himself as a real fan favourite through Breaking Bad's run and appeared to be right in the middle of his story when he was killed off (Curse you, Walter!). Thankfully Better Call Saul returned to give us the Mike fix we've so desperately needed.

The prequel adds so much to the surly hitman, with developed background and more scope for his emotional side we got a sneak peek of from time to time in Breaking Bad, and it makes his fate all the more difficult to swallow. Throughout its run Breaking Bad did an unbelievable job making us like Mike but it is through Better Call Saul's heavier focus on his private life that we really learn to care for him.

A sensitive soul who, like an early Walter White, is doing it all for his family and a man who is almost inhumanly good at his job; Mike Ehrmantraut will undoubtedly do down as one of Televisions most memorable (less so his second name I suspect) and most loved characters (Seriously, damn you Walter!).
