7 Image Comics Series Crying Out For A TV Show

2. Saga

Okay, again, this could be a series like Game of Thrones in terms of sheer scope and size, but swapping out a fantasy setting for one unashamedly sci-fi. But, more importantly, it would also be a far more personal story than GoT ever could be.

Following the story of Marko and Alana, each a member of fantastical alien races locked in an ages long war, who fall in love and have a child together - a child that both sides would want to see dead.

Narrated by their child, Hazel, from an unspecified point, Saga has been so full of twists, turns and heart-wrenching moments that the books regularly see themselves topping the best-sellers lists. Writer Brian K. Vaughan is no stranger to TV land either, so his and Fiona Staples' project could have all the fuel it needs to blast off to TV screens.

And yes, the series would work better as a TV series than as a film franchise. As each portion of their lives tackles complex topics such as relationships, families, prejudices and, of course, war, a long-form TV show would allow the series the space it needs to breathe and let those tear-inducing moments really sink in.
