After years of hoping, waiting and speculating, it's finally going to happen: Tyler Hoechlin's Man Of Steel is going to headline his own TV series. But he won't be doing it alone because he's taking his right-hand woman with him as Bitsie Tulloch is also set to reprise her role as Lois Lane.

Touted as a modern day version of the classic The Adventures of Lois & Clark, Superman & Lois will follow the lives of the iconic superhero and the intrepid reporter as the pair attempt to juggle their new life as parents with the pressures of crime-fighting and getting to the truth.

Heochlin made his first appearance as the beloved Clark Kent in Supergirl's Season 2 premiere (after the first season could only use a distant CGI rendering of the character) when he showed up to help his cousin save the Venture. After a few more appearances, he would return with Tulloch in tow in last season's Elseworlds crossover - when Lois revealed that she was pregnant.

The Flash's former showrunner Todd Hellbing is set to write the script for the pilot episode and should the series be picked up, he will serve as executive producer.

It's been a long time coming, but now we can finally prepare to go up, up and away with the Man of Steel and Lois Lane.
