8 Alternate TV Endings Much Better Than What We Got

Breaking Bad's explosive ending was perfect, but perfection can occasionally be improved on.

Creator Vince Gilligan originally had a different target in mind for the M60 machine gun-wielding Walt before settling on Jack and his band of neo-Nazis.

In what would have been a more explosive and more controversial finale, Heisenberg would have sprung Jesse from a prison by storming the facility all guns blazing, taking down a bunch of guards while making his final stand.

"We had an idea for the longest time that Walt was going to break into the downtown jail in Albuquerque and just shoot the s**t out of the jail with this M60 machine gun and rescue Jesse. We kept asking ourselves, 'Well, how bad is Walt going to be at the end here? Is he going to kill a bunch of upstanding, law-abiding jail guards?'"

Even though Walt had fully broken bad, prison wardens don't provide guilt-free targets like Nazis, so it's no surprise that Gilligan went in a different direction.

Nevertheless, this would have been an epic showdown and a more action-packed final act than the one we got, a last-minute firestorm in which Heisenberg carried out one of his most evil acts, yet still emerged with a shred of redemption by liberating Jesse.

In an ideal world, this would have at been filmed and included among the DVD and Blu-ray extras so fans had two incredible endings for the price of one.
