8 Classic Doctor Who Monsters Who Should Make A Return

5. The Krynoids

A Krynoid is a plant based life form that could be considered a type of space weed. The Doctor explains that these plant based monsters can easily wipe out a whole planet's ecosystem if it grows large enough, and while that might sound a bit ridiculous, that almost happened back during the Fourth Doctor's adventures.

Two Krynoids appeared in The Seeds of Doom serial, seeing The Fourth Doctor and Sarah Jane first in an Antarctic base before moving onto a millionaire's private estate. While The Krynoids were obviously just actors clumsily charging around in large suits, re-imagined with a modern special effects the Krynoid could be remade to both grotesque and physically intimidating.

Bringing these creatures back would also be sure to score some points with the classic fan base, as the Seeds of Doom is a popular Fourth Doctor adventure. You could also take the creature in a multitude of different directions. The Doctor could arrive on a planet that has been overtaken by Krynoids, or perhaps a Krynoid pod could hitch a ride on the TARDIS, meaning The Doctor accidentally brings it back to Earth.

Whichever way the writers choose to reintroduce this monster, it's sure to be an exciting adventure.
