8 David Tennant Shows That Are Just As Good As Doctor Who
2. Des
Although yet to be released, Des is a forthcoming ITV series that is Tennant's most anticipated role to date. The narrative is based off the real life Scottish serial killer Dennis Nilsen in a three-part episodic structure, with the actor playing the eponymous role. The mini-series is set to have a limited cast, to be designed to show the sinister mindset of the killer, the biographer and the police investigators during his trial period.
Dennis Nilsen is one of the UK's most notorious mass murderers, killing at least 12 boys and men in London during the 1980s. From press and set pictures of the show so far, Tennant seems to have gone through a transformation for the role, with a chilling true life look of the real killer donning the famous glasses and hair.
The small cast has been released to include Jason Watkins and Daniel Mays. The show has caused an increase in hype since ITV announced it last year, as Tennant will be portraying a character in complete contrast to any role he has played previously. It is set to be released sometime in autumn.
