Criminal: UK is a British based crime anthology series on Netflix, exclusively set in the walls of a police interview room. It follows three stories over the course of each adjoining episode - in one of which Tennant plays a Doctor who claims he is framed for assaulting and murdering his step daughter. The series is set over three other countries - France, Germany and Spain - all of which include the same style with different narratives and actors. All episodes were released on the same day last year to the streaming platform.

The cat-and-mouse thriller was praised for the claustrophobic and fast paced narrative that plays mental games on the characters and audience watching at home. Each episode works individually at a 43 minute exact running time, with the dialogue battling between the interrogators and their victims as they race to solve the cases and wait for a confession to drop.
