8 Sitcoms That Did The "Baby Born On The Elevator" Thing

7. ALF

You could, perhaps, give the writers of ALF some credit for having something unique in that here an alien is the one assisting the birth. It may count for something, but not that much. In the Christmas episide, ALF, who is constantly avoiding detection from the public, manage to find himself stuck on an elevator alone with a woman who goes into labor while he's hiding in a gurney trying to escape the hospital. So, despite being of an alien race with no medical training, he still has to make the decision whether or not to reveal himself and help the woman, at the risk she'll reveal him to authorities. Of course, he does reveal himself, and assists in the delivery with the help of a medical book (as if it's that easy) and even picks out a name for the baby girl€”because parents always wait until after the baby is born choose a name. He names the baby after a young girl he befriended earlier who is soon to pass away.
