1. David Tennant

David Tennant was already mentioned at the beginning of this countdown but his legion of dedicated devotees would no doubt come after us with pitchforks if he wasn't given his own page. There isn't really anything else to add, really, because there isn't much to say about him that hasn't been said elsewhere already. As mentioned, he plays DI Alec Hardy in Broadchurch and throughout its first series his character was just as much of a mystery as the murder case itself. Hopefully the new series will shed some light on his past experiences and answer some of our questions. David's definitely got a thing for playing enigmatic figures of authority though, hasn't he?
