8 TV Character Changes That Worked Perfectly

3. Family Guy - Stewie Griffin

The Walking Dead Carol
Fox

When the Seth Macfarlane animation Family Guy made its debut, audiences couldn't help but be drawn to the maniacal, well-spoken, highly intelligent baby Stewie Griffin.

For a while he was very one-note though; punching his fists in the air, he would often declare "Victory is Mine!" before being promptly undermined by his mother or siblings as he was brought down to Earth and reminded he was still an infant.

The long-running gag of the series was the attempted murder of Lois Griffin, at the hands of Stewie himself. The attempts grew tiring after a while not just for the viewers but clearly the writers, and it all came ahead in the two-part episodes "Stewie Kills Lois" in Season 6. After concluding that he wasn't ready to kill his mother or take over the world, the concept of Stewie committing world domination was put to rest and the writers focused on a different path for Stewie.

What followed were some of the better choices made with the character; and while his time machine and elaborate weaponry still exists, the use of Stewie's vast intelligence and resources serve more of a way to create elaborate plots, instead of be accompaniments to them.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
