8 TV Character Changes That Worked Perfectly

2. The Walking Dead - Carol Peletier

The Walking Dead Carol
AMC

At the start of the series, Carol was a liability. In true zombie entertainment, it is often the weakest who are the first to be eaten, but the fragile housewife from Atlanta has narrowly avoided so much pain and suffering and came out the other side, it makes her one of the best characters in TV today.

Written off as a throwaway character, Carol exceeded expectations by slowly becoming one of the most fascinating elements on the show. From a victim of domestic abuse, to a hardened survivor, she has shown genuine progression and change since the first series. An alteration that shows what kind of world the characters live in.

Carol's change is not through convenience either; she has had to endure the horrors of the apocalypse from dismembering her late husband, to discovering her lost daughter has died and all the way to coldly executing women, men and children for the greater good.

While other characters in the show debuted as a "badass" has retained that characteristic; Carol however has grown, molded by the world she lives in now. This is one of the rare moments in Walking Dead history when actual, great storytelling and writing has unfolded properly.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
