8 TV Finales So Bad They Wiped Shows From Existence

4. Quantum Leap (1989 To 1993)

Game Of Thrones Dany Face
NBC

Dr. Sam Beckett was a physicist who became trapped in time due to a time travel experiment gone wrong. He finds himself leaping in and out of the bodies of historical figures who existed in his lifetime and trying to correct mistakes. The only other person along for the ride is his friend Al, a hologram from the future only he can see. The ultimate goal of the series is to bring Sam home.

The end of season five needed to be set up to either serve as the end of the season or the end of the series, depending on what the network decided about season six. They decided not to pick up season six and Quantum Leap came to an end with a title card explaining that Sam never made it home.

For any fans of the series looking for that moment when Sam was finally freed from his ordeal, which was most of them, this finale left them high unsatisfied.
