8 TV Show Reboots You Didn't Know Were In The Works

6. Animaniacs

The Original: 90s kids will be all-too-familiar with this staple after-school treat, with the original series (which was executive produced by the Steven Spielberg) spanning 99 episodes from 1993-1998.

Each episode featured a multitude of different characters all off on their own wild adventures, with everyone from Pinky and the Brain, Yakko, Wakko, Dot, and Dr. Otto Scratchansniff getting up to all sorts of crazy hijinks.

The show had a Looney Tunes-esque flavour, and became very popular as a result.

The Reboot: The new Animaniacs series is set to start airing in 2020 on Hulu, with Wellesley Wild (writer on Family Guy) on showrunning duties, and Spielberg returning as executive producer.

All the classic characters you remember are set to make a comeback, and the basic premise - Yakko, Wakko and Dot causing havoc - will remain the same. All in all, this version of the show sounds very similar to the original, so if you loved that one, you'll probably love this one too.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
