8 TV Shows We Already Know Are Coming To An End In 2014

8. The Tonight Show With Jay Leno/Late Night With Jimmy Fallon

Is It A Good Thing The Show Is Ending? Definitely yes. End Times: February 6 It's obvious why these two shows are grouped together, Leno is being ousted in order to get Fallon the earlier and more prestigious slot. After the Olympics are over, Fallon will take over the reins of The Tonight Show €“ much to the chagrin of people over the age of 65, and Conan O'Brien). But I think most people at this point are excited for the change in power, Fallon is a younger and more hip comedian that infuses his show with his abundant excitement about anything and everything, and Jay Leno has become a sourpuss grumpily looking upon his fallen empire. There's a serious discussion to be had about whether or not late-night television should even exist anymore. Back in the halcyon days of television, late night talk shows were the only available option for entertainment after 10PM, but now no one (or at least no one that I know of) watches late night television when it's broadcast. Typically fans will just record the series and watch it at their leisure rather than adhering to watching it on schedule. But NBC and the other networks continue to trot these shows out because it's an easy revenue stream that does not cost very much money to produce. So Fallon will likely be NBC's Tonight Show host for years and years to come, giggling along with all of the jokes every night.
