The gruesome psychological horror series Hannibal may have focused on the relationship dynamic between criminal profiler Will Graham and forensic psychiatrist Hannibal Lecter, but there was always one character fans were eager to see. And while series creator Bryan Fuller has stated that should the show be revived, he would bring in Clarice Starling, it seems that dream is a million miles away.

Thankfully, fans can expect an entirely new show to hit their small screens next year simply titled Clarice. With Rebecca Breeds (Pretty Little Liars) cast in the role as the titular hero, the show will take place after The Silence Of The Lambs and will see Starling rejoin the FBI in Washington DC.

Not much else has been revealed about the series apart from a few more casting choices (Kal Penn from Designated Survivor and Michael Cudlitz from The Walking Dead) and that the series will be a period piece set in the 1990s.

Whether or not the series will see Starling circle around her relationship with Dr. Lecter is yet to be confirmed, but here's hoping 2021 will see a new gritty revitalised hero in a crime drama.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
