8 Ways The Walking Dead Season 10 Has Saved The Show
5. Remixing The Comics
This may be controversial, but after the major time skip, the comics faltered a lot.
While the Whisperers were great on the page, there were some questionable decisions made later in this arc that meant things were not quite as well executed as they could have been. A lot of this comes down to form, as the events happening were simply too big for comics.
No longer did Robert Kirkman focus on a small group struggling to survive, but instead a connection of five communities. Fans would go months or even years without catching up with certain survivors or places due to comic-book release schedules, and the individual issues are simply too limited on content to cover everything they were looking to do.
With AMC's version, the writers have the chance to do-over and learn from the source material's mistakes. Not only does the 40-minute runtime mean there's more time for side plots and characters, but the thinned cast means more time for others, especially Magna and Yumiko’s group, which is barely explored on the comic and quickly pushed to the side.
