8 Ways The Walking Dead Season 10 Has Saved The Show
1. The Whisperers Are The Most Exciting Villains In A Long Time
Since it recently aired, no spoilers for Episode 2 which focusing on them, but the Whisperers are great. The concept of an animal-like cult that walks amongst the dead simply makes sense for a group of people who have survived this far into the apocalypse without a community to shelter them. Alpha, Beta and Lydia are all great, unique characters, and the dynamic the three have keeps the story moving and personal.
On a purely aesthetic level, the Whisperers look cool and are genuinely scary, with the idea that they could be anywhere or anyone, it means fear and hysteria are at an all-time high.
Turning how many survivors there are from a strength into a weakness is a great move, and makes Alpha a fantastic villain who serves as the perfect foil for Carol and Lydia, while Beta acts as the perfect foil for Daryl and Negan. Everyone loves a good rivalry.
The confidence shown by Angela Kang and co. is great, and it finally feels like the show is back on top, and for a show ten years in to be that exciting is a very special thing.
