9 Problems Nobody Wants To Admit About The Arrowverse
4. Currently, Supergirl Is Its Only Good Series
When CBS announced they'd be making a Supergirl series in 2014, fans were understandably trepidatious.
Of course Smallville had a strong following, but - qualitatively speaking at least - it wasn't particularly impressive. Past Superman-themed shows had varied from average to straight up terrible, and while there was nothing to indicate that Supergirl would be the same, there was scepticism that it could compete in the post-Daredevil/Jessica Jones climate of 2015.
What fears that were there were assuaged completely when Melissa Benoist burst onto the scenes in Kara Zor-El's costume in the pilot, and the show has gone from strength to strength since, providing a take on the Superman mythos that's not only for all ages, but one that's also thematically tied to it (something the DCEU definitely can't boast).
And yet, it's pretty much the only show that's been able to maintain a steady trajectory since its pilot. Arrow, Flash and Legends have all fluctuated massively in the years since their debut seasons, and still Supergirl remains consistent. Why can't those other shows capture what it so obviously has?
