9 Stephen King Adaptations Coming To TV In 2020 And Beyond
1. The Stand
The Stand is based on King's epic post-apocalyptic pandemic story. It follows the journey of many characters, some good, some evil, as they make their way across the diseased carcass of America. All of them being called towards a mystical force which begs for a showdown between those that strive for the light, and those that live in darkness.
This show already has a fully fledged high-profile cast including the likes of Whoopi Goldberg, James Marsden, Amber Heard, and Alexander Skarsgård. It is set to be released on CBS All Access at some point this year.
This book has been adapted to TV once before in the cult classic by the same name that saw A-listers of yesteryear such as Molly Ringwald and Rob Lowe battle evil. Although well received in 1994, it is well deserving of an update. A 2020 release of this show is what King's best novel is desperately in need of.
