The Institute is King's latest novel, released in September 2019, a TV adaptation was announced on the same day. Obviously riding the Stephen King high, David E. Kelley and Jack Bender (producers of Mr. Mercedes) secured the rights just as early as they could.

The novel follows a young boy named Luke Ellis who is kidnapped on the same night his parents are murdered. He is transported to 'The Institute', a place very much like Xavier's Academy for Gifted Children, if it were run by Serial Killers and Sociopaths.

Each child held prisoner at The Institute has some form of special gift or superpower, meaning that a TV adaptation could perfectly capture the Stranger Things/X-Men audience.

Not much else is currently known about the adaptation but it is expected in the next few years.
