2. Quantum Leap: Where Exactly Did Sam End Up?
It should be obvious from the fact the lead character's name was misspelled on the title card that bookended Quantum Leap's final episode that this was quick fix to wrap things up, implemented at the last minute when a renewal order failed to materialise.
In the final episode, Dr Sam Beckett somehow leaps into his own body in a strange Purgatory-like dimension which resembles a bar. This was as close as he came to the elusive leap home, teased in the intro every time, because the finale concludes with the blunt text "Dr Sam Becket never returned home".
