Doctor Who: 20 Things You Didn’t Know About A Christmas Carol

6. Jenkins Was Nervous About The Kissing

Having never had a proper acting job before, Jenkins was in for plenty of new experiences on the set of A Christmas Carol.

There probably weren't flying sharks backstage at Emmerdale. Probably.

Of all the things to be worried about, there was one in particular she was most concerned with – the kissing scene with young Kazran actor Danny Horn.

"My mum's got to watch that on Christmas Day!" she told Digital Spy, explaining that she felt more nervous about getting this scene right than she did before singing to the Pope seven years earlier.

Luckily, Matt Smith was on hand to make sure everything ran smoothly... no, wait, he intentionally kept messing up the shot so they had to do extra takes. According to Jenkins, her and Horn ended up locking lips for about 90 minutes.
