Agent Carter: 10 Easter Eggs And References You Need To See

7. Whitby€™s Prospect

Not every little nod and wink in Agent Carter is to something that's previously appeared in a Marvel film or comic book. The show is also as adept at pulling from the history of the era the show is set in, with the bombastic radio serials and less developed sense of gender equality being just two examples. Then there's the little reference to Peggy's past in a newspaper she's perusing. Whilst looking over planned horse racing bets of her fellow Agent Sousa (who, just FYI, might be a familiar face because he also played a cop during the Battle Of New York in Avengers), she recommends backing one called Whitby€™s Prospect. Why did she think that horse would be a good bet? Because The Prospect Of Whitby is one of London€™s oldest riverside taverns, founded as early as 1520 on the banks of the Thames. Peggy hasn't forgotten her roots, which are apparently dodgy pubs. Giving her fighting style, that might make sense.
