Agents Of SHIELD: 10 Best Villains
5. Jaiying
Thanks to the revelation that Jiaying was still alive and serving as the leader of an Inhuman sanctuary in the second season, it seemed as though she truly had everyone's best interests at heart, human and Inhuman alike. In contrast, SHIELD agent Robert Gonzales appeared to be the one who was hellbent on setting off the spark that would ignite a war between SHIELD and the Inhumans.
Surprisingly, Gonzales revealed in a one-on-one meeting with Jiaying that he simply wanted peace, going so far as to use a necklace the Inhuman had thought lost as a symbol of his good intentions. Instead, Jiaying took his life using one of her manufactured Terrigen Crystals only to claim that he attacked her, intentionally kicking off the conflict between the ill-informed parties on both sides of the SHIELD/Inhuman line.
Warped by her experiences with Daniel Whitehall and others, Jiaying nearly unleashed her dangerous Crystals in a plot to wipe humans off the planet in a bid to leave only Inhumans standing, but Cal killed her before she could see it through. Despite her death and the dissolution of her plans, the effects of her act continued into season three via the fish oil, helping introduce to the world a whole new wave of Inhumans.
