Though her sole appearance in Captain America: The Winter Soldier didn't directly reveal her relation to a certain other female Agent to audiences at large, comic fans know exactly who Sharon is and why she's important to the future of the MCU. By the time The Winter Soldier ended, Agent 13 was in the midst of joining the CIA. Considering that her next appearance likely won't be until next year's Civil War, Agents of SHIELD could be a perfect place for the character to develop into a more fully-formed member of the MCU. Like Ty Burrell and Sebastian Stan, actress Emily VanCamp has a history with ABC - she's been starring on Revenge since 2011. With Coulson still attempting to rebuild SHIELD from the ground up, recruiting the loyal Agent 13 back from the CIA seems logical. Between VanCamp's status with the network and the character's inherent importance to Captain America going forward, it's not a matter of if, but when she'll inevitably cross paths with the Agents.
