Chloë Savigny's sexually explicit Shelley was never going to fit well with the strict moral code of Briarcliff Manor, and it only took her until Episode 3 to get into a heap load of trouble. After a run in with the sadistic Dr. Arthur Arden, and numerous escape attempts, it looked like Shelley's luck was running out. Asylum already showcased Arden's 'creations' lurking in the grounds, but I never expected Shelley to be joining their ranks.

The episode ended with Shelley waking up on the operating table of Arden, a very dangerous place indeed. With her legs and arms amputated, Arden promised he wasn't done with Shelley yet - unfortunately her horror was just beginning. Whilst the rest of the staff would come looking for Shelley, none of them realised how close to discovering the truth they really were. She later returned in a metamorphosis state, like Jeff Goldblum in The Fly. A possessed Sister Mary Eunice dumped the monster on the steps of an elementary school, where she was discovered by a group of children. Before Shelley could bring shame on the asylum, she was strangled by Monsignor Timothy Howard and a pair of rosary beads.
