2. A Lighter Tone

Let's be honest -
American Horror Story really was a bit of a gloomfest in the second season, wasn't it? Everything had a sense of misery and overarching darkness about it that while it was stylistically and thematically appropriate and awesome, it was the furthest thing from laugh-a-minute as murder, mayhem and desolation were around every corner. Murphy has promised some levity and humour in this third season which is a bit of a relief after the unrelenting doom and gloom of the second series - we're hardly expecting this to turn into a spooky episode of Glee, but we'd love to see more of a snarky sense of humour, not far from Zachary Quinto's scene-stealer Chad in the first season who was a delightful bite of bitchy snark to alleviate the darkness.
