9. Magnum PI (1980)

As we get into the Top 9 themes, you're no doubt wondering what jewels we have in store, and believe me, it's a great way to start the single digits by introducing the one and only Tom S as Magnum PI. I still laugh at that Family Guy scene in which Higgins approaches Magnum about having "poo" on his hands, Magnum BM. But I digress. Magnum PI was a sort of male version of Angela Landsbury's Mrs Fletcher, although Magnum was actually a PI, this connection was referred too by fans so much that there is actually an episode where both characters meet and have to help each other out in order to solve a murder. It's brilliant. Go watch it now. Orson Welles provided some of his last work as the unseen millionaire who gave Magnum some cases, though by the time Welles character was scheduled to appear on air, the actor had died.
