Arrested Development: 20 Greatest Running Jokes

4. The Charlie Brown Moments

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oabcM9SOF-E If you're sad and you're a character in Arrested Development, there's but one way to express your feelings: arms by your side, head facing the ground, shuffling forwards slowly, whilst the theme song from "A Charlie Brown Christmas" plays over the top of the scene. This has been the standard presentation for depicting a "character on a low" since the show's inception, and it's one of the most constitently funny running gags, though I'm not exactly sure why. Almost every character has had their Charlie Brown moment, though it's what George Michael that this gag fuses so brilliantly. Be it because he's been dumped by Ann or because his father has been ignoring him, there's something so perfect about watching Michael Cera scrape his heels in the dirt to this song.
