7. Roy's Ploy Backfires
Thats not to say that the success of Roys ploy will not be without dire consequences. While a capable fighter, Roys strengths have always been in the mastery of his surroundings, with his comparatively diminutive size allowing him to parkour into places that Oliver couldnt have managed. Give Roy a blunt object, enough space, and sufficient motivation, and he wouldnt even need a bow to hold his own. Unfortunately, prison is not exactly designed to play to Roys strengths as a fighter. Scrappiness and skill aside, he just does not have the size to survive in a prison brawl without sustaining some serious damage. The little guy will be sent to a jail filled with three years worth of bad guys captured and put away by Olivers Arrow. Going by the trailer sequence in which Roy is jumped by a handful of his fellow inmates, his sacrifice will have more to do with the beatings suffered during the duration rather than the length of his incarceration. Without the bulk, reach, and dispassionate fury that have kept Oliver alive for the past eight years, Roys days within the system are undoubtedly numbered. As Oliver stated, he has survived far worse than a stint in Iron Heights at this point; Roy has not.
