Arrow: 10 Huge Things We Learned From The New Trailer

8. Roy's Ploy Works

Between the League of Assassins picking off innocents in his city and Ra€™s al Ghul revealing his secret identity to Captain Lance, nothing has really been going according to plan for Oliver. Even the intended sacrifice of his own freedom to guarantee immunity for the rest of Team Arrow fell apart almost immediately when Roy donned the green leathers and hood to pull an almighty €œI am Spartacus!€ on the authorities. Despite the clear size difference between Roy and the Arrow as well as Lance€™s knowledge of Roy€™s role as Arsenal, there€™s a surprising degree of sense to the ploy. The SCPD doesn€™t actually have hard evidence against Oliver at this point. Unless Lance intends to call Ra€™s al Ghul as a witness, Roy€™s confession in the Arrow suit looks to be enough to free Oliver and send Roy to prison. Heck, between Lance€™s well-known bias against Oliver and that this will have been the second time that he€™s €œwrongfully€ arrested Oliver as the vigilante, Lance€™s career might be in jeopardy. Oliver almost certainly will not be thrilled at his sidekick taking the fall for him, but Roy€™s heroism in giving himself up in Oliver€™s stead may save a lot of lives in the long run.
