Arrow: 10 Mistakes It Must Fix In Season 5

1. Too Far Removed From What Made The Show Great

Arrow Mistakes Oliver Felicity
The CW

Arrow now is, in parts, unrecognisable from the show it started as, and the one everyone loved. The show changing and developing isn't a bad thing, because you don't want a series to just repeat the same tricks time and again and run the risk of becoming stale.

The trouble with Arrow is that its lost some elements that are intrinsic to the show working: the strong action scenes, urgent, focused, and coherent plotting, flashbacks that are entertaining and complement the main narrative.

Looking at Daredevil, it's easy to imagine the kind of show Arrow could be. And while being on The CW means some concessions have to be made - it's going to have some soapy parts, and can't be anywhere near as violent - it should still be aiming to compete, especially in the action stakes. The likes of Stephen Amell and Willa Holland are capable of delivering in this regard, so let them do it. Get back to the fast-paced and frenetic action and narrative pushing the show along and providing plenty of thrills.

This back-to-basics approach has been mentioned by Amell during the off-season, which shows that they are at least aware of it, and hopefully it means they can take the show back to what made it so enjoyable in the latter stages of Season 1 and, in particular, all of Season 2. Do that, and the other pieces should fall into place. Let's just hope it's not too late.

What mistakes do you think Arrow needs to fix (if any)? How would you do it? Share your thoughts in the comments.
