Arrow: 10 Things We Learned From The Season 4 Premiere

4. Damien Darhk Is Wielding Magic

Arrow Season 4 Damien Darhk
The CW

It would seem that the Lazarus Pit was just the beginning of a whole new direction for the series. After witnessing this season's big bad Damien Darhk nearly kill a man by touching him, Oliver is quick to assert that he's not a metahuman, but is using magic. While we're left to wonder how Oliver knows this, his suspicions are proven true when we later see Darhk performing some sort of ritual involving a small statue, a dagger, and his blood.

Even without the magic, Neal McDonough has certainly asserted himself as a strong villain. Darhk wastes no time hiding in the shadows, and his well-dressed and well-crazy persona immediately conjures recollections to his fantastic guest role in Justified.

His performance is only bolstered by the character's magical qualities as there's much to fear from a man who can stop arrows with the flick of a wrist.
