Arrow Season 3: 10 Comic Book Stories To Adapt

5. The Flash - 'Mob Rule'

On October 7th in the US, The Flash will make his debut on the CW network, closely followed by the season three opener of Arrow the following night. The Flash, as we all know by now, is a spin-off of Arrow, as we saw Grant Gustin play Barry Allen in two well-received episodes during season two. The geek community is very excited about the Flash show, and it has a lot of positive buzz behind it, aided by a pilot episode that was a huge hit at the summer comic conventions. It would be naive to think, however, that Barry appearing during season two of Arrow will be the only time the two show's crossover. In fact, in promo trailers for the upcoming seasons, we've already seen Stephen Amell and Gustin interact as Arrow and The Flash, and it's known that Amell makes an appearance in the Flash pilot. So, with that being said, we reckon that it's pretty nailed on for a crossover at some point during season three, and would love to see producers taking inspiration from the 'Mob Rule' story by Brian Buccellato and Francis Manapul. 'Mob Rule' was the first Flash arc out of the gate with The New 52 relaunch, and it concerns Manuel Lago, an old friend of Barry Allen who, due to a CIA experiment, could regrow lost limbs. It transpired that each of these lost limbs would actually grow into a full duplicate or clone of Manuel, and these duplicates teamed up in order to force Manuel to find a cure for them, as they had each begun to die in the order they were originally created. We think 'Mob Rule' would make for an intriguing double episode of Arrow, as it would push the science-fiction aspects, that were introduced in season two, even further. With the high production value that Arrow consistently maintains, we'd be certain that the special effects used to portray the duplicates would look amazing and the prospect of watching Green Arrow and The Flash team-up to battle a group of villainous clones just makes us smile.
