Arrow Season 4: 8 Things You Need To Know About Green Arrow

7. Mayor Of Star(ling)

Mayors of Starling City get a pretty raw deal; running for office is essentially like signing your own death sentence. So far on the show three mayors have come and gone, so might Oliver Queen be the man to break the streak? In the comics Oliver/Green Arrow becomes a very political, left-wing figure, who strongly believes in social justice. This leads to Oliver running for - and getting elected - Mayor of Star City in order to have more of a direct influence in the cleaning up of the city. Episode 2 of season 4 will be called The Candidate, and we'll be meeting a character who's an old friend of Moira Queen and will be running for Mayor. Given the track record of elected officials, if she were to get elected she may not hang around too long, which could cause Oliver to finally make a stand. He hasn't shown too many political leanings thus far, and the show may not want to risk such strong views either way, but it's clear how much he cares about the city and running for Mayor would be another example of that.
