Arrow Season 5: 8 Ups And 2 Downs From 'Legacy'

2. Downs - Guest Star

Arrow Ups Downs
The CW

This is something that has been happening on a whole host of shows over the past few years. Arrow has done it, The Flash has done it, and even non-CW shows such as The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones have done it. Still, that doesn’t make it right, though.

Within mere seconds of Legacy starting, the credits revealed that we’d be seeing an appearance from “ special guest star” Katie Cassidy. And from that moment on, we all knew to expect an appearance from the deceased Laurel Lance.

The appearance itself was another look at Laurel’s death scene, with us now being made privy as to what the promise was that she made Ollie take with her dying breath: she wants him to continue the Black Canary moniker on.

Either way, Laurel’s reappearance instantly lost any of its shock value the moment Katie Cassidy’s name appeared in the episode’s opening credits. It may only be a minor thing, but it’s still a major annoyance.
