Arrow Season 7 Premiere: 6 Ups & 2 Downs From ‘Inmate 4587’
1. Lack Of Laurel
While the direction of her storyline suggests that this is going to be an interesting year for Black Siren, the fact that she was barely featured in the season premiere was a major letdown. In fact, she only appeared to speak to the Star City reporters to read out the city's policy towards vigilantism. It was a great scene, but it did little to shed some light on what she has been up to while the show was between seasons.
This is undoubtedly a really minor issue because it is likely that this will change as the season progresses - she simply didn't figure into the equation in this particular episode. But having waited all summer to find out how all of the characters are doing, it was disappointing to find out that the only time one of the most important characters was featured was in the same scene that was already revealed to fans through the multiple trailers.
We have yet to find out why she ultimately became the District Attorney and what she intends on doing with the position. How did she manage to study all those law books in five months? Is she all good now, or is there still an evil streak? These are all questions that could have been answered if she was written into more scenes.
Katie Cassidy's return to the show was one of Season 6's strongest aspects, and it's only right that she's allowed to continue thriving moving forward. More Laurel, please.
