Ballers Season 2: 5 Ups & 4 Downs
2. Well-Developed Supporting Characters
There's some really fantastic work with the major supporting characters this season...Charles excluded, of course.
Arguably the most-improved of these characters is NFL player Ricky Jerrett (John David Washington), who has a real arc and clearly goes through some growth, even if he's still not beyond the occasional shenanigan or two.
In addition, Richard Schiff steals every scene he's in as AFM owner Mr. Anderson, his sarcastic putdowns at both Spencer and Joe making him one of the few characters to completely see through their bulls***.
And of course, Joe continues to be the show's comic goldmine, with the growing chemistry between Johnson and Rob Corddry forming the bro-tastic core.
While the first season seemed a little less sure-footed in this regard, this time it all came together a little easier as everyone settled into a more comfortable groove.
