Batwoman Review: 7 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Crisis On Infinite Earths, Part 2'

4. Brandon Routh's Superman

It's no overstatement to say that Brandon Routh was born to play Superman. The Arrowverse veteran is, of course, known for portraying the Man of Steel in 2006's Superman Returns - a film that, in spite of its positive reception, was oddly divisive among fans and never received a sequel. Well, if there was ever evidence that it deserved one, it was Routh's reprisal of the role in 'Crisis On Infinite Earths, Part Two'.

Donning the iconic Kingdom Come outfit, Routh's Superman was more of a heartbroken shell of the warrior that he once was - a side-effect of Joker's attack on the Daily Planet that killed countless of his colleagues (including Perry and Lois). Whether or not this suggests that a grim future awaited the characters of Superman Returns is unknown, but it did give Routh a chance to showcase why he's so darn good in the role.

From his effortlessly awkward quirks as Clark Kent to the charismatic charm of his heartbroken hero, he was nothing short of excellent throughout his Man of Steel's arc and gifted us with one of the most comic-accurate Supermen of all-time (that's twice, now).

This writer is certainly very excited to see what comes next for the character.
