Currently playing and positively reviewed What Remains is the story of past and present. In the present the tale draws the viewers to see the worlds of couple Michael Jenson (Russell Tovey) and Vidya Khan (Amber Rose Revah) and Detective Len Harper (David Threlfall) who are investigating the death of Melissa Young (Jessica Gunning) a (former) resident in the flat which Jenson has just moved into.

The story follows the insight into the different flat owners, their motives, thoughts and feelings, the reasons for her disappearance being unnoticed for two years and the responsibility of anyone involved.

Seemingly inspired by the Scandinavian crime style, the conventional whodunit is transformed into a murky arthouse series shot in an unsettling quiet and concern and allows Threlfall, known as Frank in Shameless, the podium to thrive away from the drunken shadow of his previous, comedic, career turns.
