7. Meddling With The Primal Forces Of Nature
Apparently something about the table in the law offices Hamlin, Hamlin, & McGill just does something to the young Saul Goodman. Having already seen his flair for the theatrical during the rehearsal of and eventual opening statement during his hopeless court case at the start of the episode, the young Jimmy McGill does the same when he confronts his brother's former colleagues. You have meddled with the primal forces of nature, Mr Hamlin, and I won't have it! he yells, pointing and looking a bit wild-eyed, eventually following up that missive with AND YOU...WILL...ATONE! before explaining that he's quoting Ned Beatty from Network. In case you didn't get it. The law office is set up very similarly to that iconic scene from Network, a film about a news reader who is sick with corporate interference and the awful state of the world he's mad as hell, and he isn't going to take it any more which is kind of ironic given Jimmy's view of things and motivations in comparison.
