3. Jimmy Is Going To Be Dealt A Serious Blow (And It'll Likely Be Chuck's Death)
At the end of season one, McGill has all but snapped, embracing the Saul Goodman that lurks underneath. The final scene gives Jimmy the first ounce of real power he's properly displayed, as he proclaims that whatever stopped him from splitting the embezzled one and a half million dollars with Mike is never going to stop him again. As he turns away from HHM, there's a sense of unparalleled triumph. Yet there's still a lengthy distance between McGill at the end of season one and Saul Goodman in Breaking Bad. Unfortunately for Jimmy, that means worse things are going to have to happen to him, things that further alienate him from everyone in his life. Expect something terrible to happen during the first episodes of season two. It wouldn't be entirely surprising for this to manifest itself in the form of the death of Chuck, Jimmy's brother. Chuck was the main catalyst that caused Jimmy to lose faith in becoming a legitimate lawyer. Now that's been used up, it would be a smart move to discard him in order to accelerate this transformation and strip Jimmy of his dwindling humanity.
