5. Season 3 Episode 4: The Interview
"Bazinga. You've fallen victim to another one of my classic practical jokes... You may want to laugh at that, I'm your boss now." There's a lot of build up to this one, with Sheldon telling Raj he hadn't actually offered him a job, before employing some pretty harsh interview techniques, but it turns out that all of this was just to wind Raj up. Mean old Sheldon. Raj should definitely have run from that job as fast as possible! Aside from Sheldon wanting to throw a "bazinga" in there (as he often does), this is basically a classic power play over Raj. Sheldon derisively says "of course I'm busy" when Raj first arrives and makes him wait, despite the fact he's simply studying his calculations. Then, he corrects Raj in that he'll be working "for" him and not "with" him, before dismissing each of Raj's very fair conditions and making him believe that he'd only been offered the opportunity to apply for the position, not the actual job. Saying "bazinga" implies that the whole thing was just a practical joke, but Sheldon is cunning: this was a power play dressed up in disguise. He needed to put Raj in his place so that he knew he'd always have total control in their working environment. Crafty.
