Blood Of Zeus Review: 9 Ups And 2 Downs
5. Up: The Credits Sequences
In a world where streaming platforms - Netflix itself, especially - give you the option to skip credits and go right into the next episode, this series pretty much demands that you don't, and rewards you for sticking around with some of the greatest credits sequences you'll ever see in a TV series.
(Spoilers for why are right below this line, in case you want to be surprised.)
Each episode's credits present the pre-production materials that went into them: from concept art to storyboards to animatics, each of them showing the remarkable thought that went into designing every setting and every character, and from their clothing and the symbolism therein, to the many incarnations of the colourful cast, including the series protagonist, Heron, and his antagonist, Seraphim.
It's a delightful look at the complex and involved and remarkably creative process that goes into creating an animated series, playing onscreen while audiences get to read the names of those behind that very process. Very few shows are worth watching for the credits alone, and Blood of Zeus is absolutely one of them.
