Burger of the Day: Thank God It's Fried Egg Burger

A large proportion of season one hasn't aged too well. However, Sheesh! Cab, Bob! is the cornerstone of the first series because it represents everything that’s great about Bob's Burgers. The characterisation is spot on – Tina is angsty, Gene is lively (and musical), Louise is hilariously psychotic as she teaches her sister how to kiss and Linda keeps the peace with her positivity.

Most of all, it really highlights why Bob Belcher is the show’s best character and what makes him unique from most cartoon dads. Bob is a gentle, kind man who loves his family unconditionally. He is willing to take on a part-time job as a cab driver to pay for Tina’s birthday. But the real testament of his fatherly love is how he (reluctantly) shaves his signature moustache so that Jimmy Pesto will allow his son to attend the party.

The ending is so sweet as Tina realises her party is already perfect without Jimmy Jr. Furthemore, Bob gets the last laugh against Jimmy senior as he finds out his shameful nickname "Baby Num Num".
