Bob's Burgers: Every Halloween Episode Ranked Worst To Best
2. Pig Trouble In Little Tina (Season 10, Episode 4)
Much like "Tina and the Real Ghost," most of "Pig Trouble in Little Tina" feels divorced enough from Halloween that the holiday could be almost entirely removed without much change to the story. However, it stands apart from most Halloween episodes of Bob's Burgers for an overload of almost disturbingly gross imagery that horror-crazed viewers are sure to love.
This Emmy-nominated episode follows Tina's continued obsession with Jimmy Jr., although his consistently unflattering characterization suggests that Season 5's shoebox ghost might've been a healthier relationship prospect. The main conflict arises when Tina body-shames her feral pig during a dissection class in order to win the cool kids' approval.
Her pig-shaming leads to guilt-induced sleep deprivation, followed by nightmarish hallucinations with about as much animated viscera as you'll ever see on a family-friendly show outside of Invader ZIM's "Dark Harvest." It also leads to a pretty crazy dream sequence involving a thirteen-armed Louise and a banjo-playing skeleton, the latter of which later accompanies Fiona Apple's closing song.
In other words, the episode's a fever dream, but the kind you're content not to wake up from. Even the B-story, revolving entirely around Bob's excessive earwax, is a lot funnier than it has any right to be. It's probably not the weirdest TV episode to receive an Emmy nomination, but it's up there.
