Breaking Bad: Each Main Character Ranked From Worst To Best
5. Mike Ehrmantraut
Kicking off the top five is Breaking Bad's own Mike Ehrmantraut, a professional hitman, cleaner and fixer who spent much of the show's run working alongside Gus Fring before fatally aligning himself with the expanding empire of Walter White. He was also a frequent employee of Saul Goodman, who used the veteran fixer to sort out numerous issues - including sorting things out after the death of Jesse's girlfriend, Jane.
Though a killer and professional criminal, Mike often proved to be one of the show's more tragic figures. A man who found himself getting deeper and deeper into the criminal underworld as time went on, all he ever wanted was to make enough money from his exploits to secure a good future for his family, mirroring the initial motives of Walt.
Tough as nails, unshakable and loyal, the death of Gus proved to be the start of Mike's eventual downfall, as his money was seized and he was forced into a rocky partnership with Walt and Jesse. When he tried to escape the drug business, things took a turn and he was shockingly killed by Walt for insulting him.
Mike died without leaving money for his family, and despite being a violent man with a shady past, he was a blast to watch, and it was painful to see him go.
